Kristin Fisher joined CNN on July 20, 2021. She is CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent. In this role, Fisher is in charge of covering all things from NASA's newly-created Space Force to commercial space business and the emergence of space tourism. Kristin was her mother was one of NASA astronauts as well as a space enthusiast, grew up immersed in the industry. She spent five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy during the Biden and Trump administrations. Through her tenure, she reported on the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trials and two attempts to prevent the spread of coronavirus as well as two different administrations' efforts. Former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Prior to becoming a part of the company in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Using her skills behind the camera, Kristin created Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company was a specialist in documentary style films for corporate clients including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a bachelor's degree of journalism at Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her entire family, which includes their daughter, who is three years old.
